Mr. Benito specializes in representing clients in various intellectual property matters, including domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, licensing, strategy development, portfolio management and coordination. He brings substantial legal and technical experience to the clients he services, particularly in software, networking and communications, mobile and cloud computing, data science, and data generation from various types of sensory platforms ranging from drones to autonomous vehicles. He is a former patent examiner from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has worked in a variety of settings ranging from private practice to government to corporations, from software development for the U.S. Department of Defense to serving in the Office of then-U.S. Senate Majority Leader, the Honorable Harry Reid, to providing legal services in various intellectual property law firms in the Bay Area.
Mr. Benito received his J.D. (Dean’s Award) from the University of Nevada, Boyd School of Law. He earned a B.S. (with Merit) in Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. He is a veteran, a U.S. Marine holding the rank of Captain, and a carrier pilot having flown the F/A-18 Hornet to successfully execute over 100+ missions.
Mr. Benito is a registered patent attorney authorized to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice law in California.
